Ron Dragano lives in my neighborhood where he is respected as a poet. He is kind to old people and animals and, apart from that, what he does in his free time is none of my business. We both like squirrels and I like these two poems.

All Gone

They’re all gone:
The sparkly bits -
off the old whore’s eyelids,
The tiny silken scarves
That the cats won’t wear,
The mirrored honeycombs- buzzing,
The doll house on rubber wheels

The arborvitae maze -
Fallen to scrub and litter,
The wind chime,
Broken dangle down
Song gone,
Wind ignored.
Nobody volunteers
To hang in the breeze.
The moth eaten fleece
Fails to insulate against

The door departed
Windows boarded
Asphodels long gone
