Ruth Rutledge Poems

The time has flown, oh where did it go,
when no gray hair, or wrinkles did show?

Just smooth firm skin, so soft to the touch.
...

I look at her eyes as bright as the sun.
The hate builds up, because I know she has won.

He's with her now and could be with me,
...

He called me on the telephone.
All day he wouldn't leave me alone.
His calls kept coming and emails too.
He said I really can't wait to meet you.

The Best Poem Of Ruth Rutledge

Saggy Hag

The time has flown, oh where did it go,
when no gray hair, or wrinkles did show?

Just smooth firm skin, so soft to the touch.
I just never dreamed I would change so much.

My arms seem to jiggle, and my belly does too.
When I look in the mirror it makes me so blue.

My eyelids are hanging down over my eyes.
Sometimes I just want to sit down and cry.

Gravity is sure working; things are starting to sag.
Before too long I'm gonna look just like a hag.

Sometimes I don't know, how with this, I can live.
But I guess this is better than the ALTERNA-TIVE.
