ASAD CHOWDHURY

There was fire in the water
There was fire in the rain
...

The other day I saw a snake.
It was cloudy day, full of dejection
I was counting minutes with
distress and agitation
...

Can a body turn into a tree? This body? This human body?
No, it never be, This infirm body can not
Spread itself deep in the soil.
...

Matin Bairagi

African crumbled moon is hanging over the head
Yemen's blood-like rain is in the skull
...

You're leaving, and look the clouds of the sky pour down in dejection
The whistles of the afternoon train felt extremely painful
Prospective poem too failed to touch the indolence of the evening
You've left, so the torch of the fire-works dived into the earth
...

...

The black horse of Attila gallops fast
Destroys the golden handle of the civilization
Ancient monuments, Cornea of the nature
Deep sigh and dialogue of the Earth tremble
...

A few people want to know to which woman of the world
I loved first.
A few people want to know to whom I write my first letter
Some ask, Which name did I wrote down first furtively
...

... And then sound of falling and breaking down all around
I thought and I was at a loss at the shattering of the hill
All the energy is exhausted, light is wiping out
I am standing like a tree in a darkness,
...

Each of us now have turned into isolated islands
There are hundreds of miles apart from each of these islands
Or lofty mountains between one another, or frightening abyss!
Temperament, upbringing, mood, action and deeds

And Then I Was A Man

ASAD CHOWDHURY

There was fire in the water
There was fire in the rain
There was fire in melancholic eyes of Birangana
There was fire in the melodies of songs
Fire was in the poems
There were fire in the eyes of the dead
Who ever thought of that?
The dogs cats turn wild
Even the snake stings
The fishes even turns back
The sand particles scorch
There was fire on the prowess
Of the Freedom Fighters
All injustice tremble
At the devastating storm of protest
These are all fantasy
Stories told in faraway time
Then I was a man
But now I've turned cheap.
