I've lost myself in this sea of confusion
where land has become a dreamy dilussion
and faith has become a thing of the past
as I paddle to shores that will never be at hand.

Where is home but the streets I know
where everything is scattered and I am alone
throughout this matter,
throughout this ordeal.
...

Wandering hopelessly through life's largest caverns
I saw you alone, standing in the backwoods
with treasures untold, you held them so tightly.
They were neither gold nor jewels aplenty.
...

The smell of your shirt
and your blanket on my bed,
reminders that you're at home
and I'm sitting here alone again.
...

What is love but the brutality of truth
and everything that's deep in you,
functioning, forgetting, realizing?
You strive to be better

Simple little things that you do
and who you are, have pushed forth
the beauty in me.
Everything I love and care

It's the same line we've heard over before
'I love you' are the words that cut deep to the core,

Stephanie Spray Biography

I'm a small-town girl stuck in a big city. Sometimes I feel ugly and small and weak, and the world around me is crashing down. Other times, I am beautiful and subtle and girlish, without any flaws and with all the potential in the world. My poetry is a reflection of just that.)

Lonely, Open Waters

I've lost myself in this sea of confusion
where land has become a dreamy dilussion
and faith has become a thing of the past
as I paddle to shores that will never be at hand.

The sun beats down on me,
and burns my skin and where my heart used to be.
It makes a hole, that only I know
and I'm that more aware that I am alone.
I reach out for love! To the heavens I cry!
But what do I receive out alone on the sea's eye?

Empty promises, and a boat with only one oar,
in circles I go, rounding forevermore,
in hopes that I'll reach land somewhere in this spherical motion
as I gasp for truth in the heart of a lonely ocean.
