Everyone says 'what goes up must come down',
but what about balloons floating into the clouds?
What about smoke drifting high 'til it's gone?
Or butterflies, bats, birds: the list keeps going on.

Forever may seem like a very long time,
But, really, it's gone in the blink of an eye
You may think it takes too long just to pass,
But later you'll wish it hadn't gone by quite so fast.
...
Friends are forever,
With lovers this may not be so.
First loves will come and first loves will go.
But friends keep their word when they say,
'I won't leave you, not ever! '
...
Walk up to two people who claim to believe.
Then ask, 'To your God, how true can you be? '

What Doesn'T Come Down
Everyone says 'what goes up must come down',
but what about balloons floating into the clouds?
What about smoke drifting high 'til it's gone?
Or butterflies, bats, birds: the list keeps going on.
Though some things come down after flying so high,
to everything always, this rule just can't apply.
Adults like to tell us 'good things come to an end',
but this saying really must sometimes bend.
For what do they say about love? : 'it's forever',
and if this is so it can never be severed.
Some good things must end, to be appreciated most,
but for other things forever is the answer held close.
So when others tell you, 'You can't be the best',
say, 'Excuse me, I'd like to put your claim to the test.'
For some things stay up, and others stay always,
because no one can give your life limits or boundaries
