Of poems to be written
About the entrancing mystery
Of a lovely girl’s lonely eyes,

I’m everyday blinded with tears
Of desire and denial,
Longing and regret,
Memory and the need

Minds ignited by several days
Of sleeplessness and amphetamines
Create dark myths
And then slide into nightmares and dreams

I think about my sweet parents, now old,
And myself, every day growing older,
Hoping to create a gentle and tender essence
That will survive when we part this existence,
