pressed between two pairs of lips
like sparks waiting to combust

I watch a Robin take wing to sky
As snowflakes stick to my eyelashes
And I blink them out, as tears
To a passerby I'm sobbing

I tried to write something
that was almost worth reading
but this pen feels numb in my hands
and I stayed up all night

the cold shakes my bones
I want Her hands back in mine
you probably expect me to say they were warm
but they were not
...

a string of words may tie
what times divides
and fill the gaps
with better lives
...

her cold fingers
may shuffle a single grain of sand
for a thousand years
yet I must stop my heart beat
...

the ancients could find
comfort in meaning
in paradox and irony
but they didn't know a thing
