Here it's never quiet
All the shouts every night 
Screams of pain, screams of fright
Screams for mercy, to see mornings light
...

This river is more than just water 
This river is in every building, every stone every mortar
This river is an emotion not to be summed up in words
Only to be felt by those who have seen the life it holds 
...

The wet floor shines, amplifying the atmosphere
The cause of this light we pass as if it where  never here
It's energy shines through rain, sun or fog 
It keeps us safe, guides us better than a guide dog
...

Me to myself in this bustling city
The only place I can be truly happy
A city of many sides, calm or busy
A city of many atmospheres, alive or moody
...

I walk down this road all houses look the same 
Filled with people who think life is one big game
Hidden in the country away from fame
Or any one who would say they were to blame
...

Bright white lights shine down
Over look this constant sound
Travellers floc, never mind their source
Neon light glows, off the bill boards
...

Lights flash by
One constant blur, a treat to the eye
The train stops, you step out to the light
The empty tube station, no sounds but that of the night
...

I lie in my bed wide awake
Shame that's not the only lie I've ever had to make
I think to myself for christs sake 
Why did a take the bait
