Mitchell Gonzalez Poems
Those insults and curses Were nothing more than words; The mind that shook the tongue Was as empty as what it spoke.
I Remember The Night
I remember the night I remember the eyes I remember the table for two
Hot Wheels And G.I. Joes
My line of sight and joy of day’s Been stained, I’d say, three times this year. And all at fault that faggot stays. He moves as if lynched by some ghostly puppeteer.
It's No Use
My mother says: "You know, God's there whether you believe or not."
I wake up at 2: 30 pm. The world's an old black and white film playing
How we’d talk on the phone for hours Of nothing but bubblegum promises, And dared ourselves to hang up first While our hearts were begging we wouldn’t.
There In The Casket
There in the casket A skin covered prison Is grey and abandoned Asleep on its back
I have no doubt that I can write the next Great
The crickets can't keep a beat. The air's out of tune.
This Register Is Closed
She's turning her head Every few seconds To see if I'm watching. I am.
Today's Skies Are Gray
It is not by mere chance That today‘s skies are gray And you happen to wake With nothing to say
Inhale. Exhale. Blank.
These words are spilling out of me like air from an empty tilted jar. I’m nothing like what these words will say I am. I don’t know what to do with myself at times like these. I want to document this because I want to be an artist and I need to bring my pen closer to my heart.
Only For The One I Adore
The eyelids are lips Whispering lust From across the floor.

Those insults and curses
Were nothing more than words;
The mind that shook the tongue
Was as empty as what it spoke.
With the morning a new day comes;
This bird will sing a brand new song.
Though other birds will sing one too,
This bird will sing a softer one.
This bird will sing a softer tune,
This bird will get it right,
This bird really loves you,
