掎
A poem that is titled after
A symbol you do not even know how to pronounce,
掎 , yet it drags you
Away from a title you can,
And here you fall.
Makes you wonder
How disenchanting English words can get
Once you think
You've read them all.

dear jared, it's a nice entry point.
Yes, food for thought. I admit I half expected a poem in Japanese, even though I can't read a single character. I was very happily surprised at the poem which followed. Poetry is all about words, and you use them very well.
This is wonderful. Those little hieroglyphs of miracles, of characters we know not about. We stare at them from afar, we admire but we know not.
Fantastic. Sometimes words seem so redundant - even to us poets. Loved this.

Awesome job, K! As soon as I saw this title I had to read it, even though I knew it was possible the whole piece might look like the title does. lol
Even though I have no idea what they mean I think the symbols are so beautiful; they are like little pieces of art. One can still appreciate their beauty without knowing their meaning.

i like this one, kevin. a thought-provoking piece. exactly the same sentiment i had when i encountered those poems that had nothing but that unpronounced symbol. it made me wonder if the poet wanted to say something or just wanted to be a graphic artist. may you come up with more of this kind. sincerely, merc
