A Fling - Poem by Sebenzile Mamba

At first it feels so real
At first its so intriguing
Intriguing that it gives you butterflies
Butterflies to decorate your graves with

Thw second week feel like a second year
Darling changes to Dammnit
Sweetheart changes to A**hole
All sweet words turn vulgar
No wonder all your sweetness turns sour

From hoovering in the sky
To gnashing of teeth in the dungeon
From being lifted to the bedroom
To being kicked harder while lying helplessly
on the floor
From receiving flowers
To receiving insults
From being picked from work
To being kick out of the house

The end of a fling isnt flingy
but deadly
A fling is sweet but dangerous

A vain glorification of beauty which does not last, as distress jettisons bliss of lust well depicted in the poem. A lovely poem, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
