A Poorman Pledge - Poem by Abubakar Abdulkadir

When my names are smeared
with dust and kicked
butt-naked into the streets
tramped upon, squashed by dancers
revelling on the songs of my shame
I take all in saintly fate

I aren't bearing with me
My sack of shame to the land
were i shall endly rest
Laugh not out of your breathe
I shall mend my broken past
and pick up the moon I left behind
