Tiny bird, titanic sky What a gift to your wing, The immensity it gives to the sphere, With nothing beneath Save man and his petty thing, Free rises to an ever rising height Inebriate with freedom, drinks distance,
A wondering voice, a hope Transcending passion gale And liberty unknown on land, Becomes part of a space unseen, Feeling the universe your home- Mine so sense heavy, Could hardly fly outside me.

I am surprised I haven't commented on this one, because I distinctly remember reading it and loving it. I have added it to my favorites so I can keep it close and read it whenever I need a little spiritual uplift. This like so many of yours is imbued with an aura of 'other-worldliness.' Your writing reminds me of many of the zen poets I am inspired by. Thank you for sharing.

A marvellous offering! ! Almost Frost-like, wonderful metaphors! Love it! ! My favorite line is:
Inebriate with freedom, drinks distance,
This is quote perfect! Congrats! !

Very nice, Yoonoos. I particularly like your evocation of the feeling of the open space of the sky, and its essential lack of boundary. I assume you have read some of my poems, since you directed me to this poem of yours about birds. I have a great affection for birds, and I have written about them as well.
