Evan George Blum
A Will to Greatness
I want to be great.
I want my identity to be famous
And I want my name to be infamous
I cannot have both
Surely one destroys the other
But I know I cannot be both
And I cannot be balanced
I cannot be mediocre
Immortality is obtained by a few
The few who can easily make the choice
But I cannot. Most don’t get it, immortality
Most have their legacies die with them
The will to greatness is strong in me
It is part of the human condition
But my pedestrian qualities
Ensure my will remains ambition
