BanishedFairy (a.k.a ngaka motaung) (July 24 year of the snake / Reitz.Republic Of South Africa)
(Africa poems) I just want to hold you in my arms and applaud you for the divine being that you are
I can't sleep in peace when
I know that you're somewhere
Out there and the loneliness
Surrounds you and scares you
I don't want to score cheap
Points against you and use
Your vulnerability to gain
Entry into your silent world
I don't want to disturb your
Peace and enrage the neighbors
And go mud slinging with you.I want
To hold you in my arms and admire
The divine being that you are
I don't want to fight the turf war
With you neither do I want to
Label you what you are not
I want to love you under the glare
Of the sun and the illumination
Of the moon and the shimmering
Beauty of the sea I hope my noble
Intentions are revealed as clearly to you
I don't want to drag your blameless
Name in the mud and make you
The laughing stock of the working class
I don't want to poison your pure
Mind with notions of things you might
Desire and I know that when I fail
To deliver you will have no option
But to check yourself out of my life
Oh honey you are the divine wind
I want to be honest with you
I don't want to bug your phone and
Launch the total onslaught against your
Squeaky clean reputation and force you
To jump the fence and give the goodies
That by the law and nature are mine
To someone who is well connected but
Utterly not deserving to have you
I don't want you to close ranks
Against me and I sure as God has blessed
You don't want to remove you from society
In a fit of rage permanently
I just want to hold you in my arms in
The original lover's position and make
You forget about time and love you till
You accept that nothing is bigger than love
I don't want you to pity me
I want you to love me hard and make me
Aware of the danger signals when I
I become lax and forget that everything
I do must revolve around me and you
I don't want to dominate you since love
Is a fifty fifty thing and it is our dual
Responsibility to keep the flame of loving
Burning bright till baby making time dawns
On us to bind us to each other like this
Like that and this manner for this forever
And ever of our loving existence
Do you believe me now?
Would you want me to serpent my way
Into your bed and cozy up next to you?
Do you want me to stay?
Do you want me to go?
Must I perform some insane deed for you
To accept that I will do anything
To be your husband short of murder?
Do you want me poor or rich?
Do you distinguish between my sober habit
Sanity or my mental aberration?
Why do you allow that naughty smile
To brighten your erstwhile cloudy countenance?
Come on.Do you put your sweet signature
On the lovely dotted line?
Am I too hopeful to swear that
You don't compare me to your leather hand bag?
Am I in with a slim mama of a chance?
