(Africa poems) If you want to win their hearts and their minds
You must forget the interest rates
And the inflation rates and focus on
Their human qualities and tell them
that Africa is a continent of opportunity
And great potential and not the land of
Disease and failure and death you must be
The agent of encouragement and the sower
Of hope if you want to win their hearts
and their minds.Gather those who have back
tracked and backs slided and give them
the ant's group mindedness and it's
ability to take action and succeed. You
Must be like the antelope and also be
willing to sacrifice. You must be like
the healing badger and heal their broken
hearts.Like the bat you too must tell
them that there is the magic of long life
And rebirth to make them believe in
themselves.
You must be honest like the buffalo and
with it's sacredness and life from it
learn it's life prayer and with them
Reap the benefits of life's abundance.
You must copy from the butterfly and tell
the children of Africa that there is
the miracle of metamorphosis and
Transformation and they can transform
themselves from born losers to outstanding
achievers.You must train yourself day
and night until you're like the cheetah
and you see with it's deep insight and
focus and the ability to act swiftly
and decisively to attend to any situation.
You must be like the dog and be noble and
faithful and loyal if you want to win
Their hearts and their minds. You must
Attend to your duties and responsibilities
In a determined manner to earn their their
respect and admiration and unwavering loyalty
To be linked to them and to be connected
With credibility to them you must not
Posses any of the traitor's loathed qualities
to avoid the pitfalls of scandals. You
must be friends with your books and you
Maker and your fellow humans if you want
To win their hearts and their mids
