All The Credit Goes To You

You said I was worthless.
And I fought back.
I wouldn't let myself believe it.
I wouldn't let anybody believe it.
I would be nothing without you.
I would have nothing without you.
So I hope to God it's true,
'Cuz if I'm worthless,
All the credit goes to you.

You taught me to be invisible,
That invisibility was the key to happiness.
If no one sees you,
No one can take you down.
If no one hears you,
No one can twist your words around.
So I hope to God it's true,
'Cuz if I'm meant to be invisible,
All the credit goes to you.

You told me to be quiet.
So I would never be told I'm too loud.
There could never be a problem with my thinking.
If my thoughts are never shared.
Boring will rarely be questioned,
Suspicion doesn't like plain.
So I hope to God it's true.
'Cuz if silence tells my story,
All the credit goes to you.

You never encouraged me to follow my dreams.
Uniqueness never took it's stand.
Under the bed, you shoved my passions.
You pushed love right out of my hands.
Love is pain.
Love deserves nothing short of hate.
So I hope to God it's true,
'Cuz If I end up on top,
All the damn credit goes to you.

I notice that your poetry stems from your sorrow. Well it is a good way to vent, it's not always happy to read. Can you post some happy stuff for me to read?
Again, I did like it. I'm just not in a sad mood, so I couldn't relate. (Report) Reply
