Because Regret is Perpetual

because the rain needs no translation
because the petrichor is intoxicatingly incompressible
because life is not a failure even if love was
because there will always be something for you and for me
because the cycle of replacement is vicious
because some things are better left unsaid
because those said were misunderstood
because some promises remain unfulfilled
because you never get a full-closure
because you will never forget
because you will forget and will be reminded
because regret is perpetual
because perpetual is the end
because life has intricate patterns
because our soul wanders aimlessly in the dark caves
because still we hold our head higher than the mountain peaks
because you were never mine and me yours
because we shall coexist yet be forever apart
because we should cherish now and forget what lays ahead
because I don't know what love is, have never known
because falling in love is never a choice
because love is not always meant to be…

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
