Dark Portal

I was searching the world
Looking for a paradise
One of great wonders
Peace and tranquility abound
Little did I know
These portals are few
They are hidden beneath
The most exquisite places
But easy to find was darkness
For it shows itself easily
Like it’s proud of itself
To be so dismal and dark
I found the dark portal
Engulfing much of the Earth
Taking away happiness
And killing people’s hope
I avoided this anomaly
Wanting greatly to find
The great and perfect portal
A path to higher land
