Days Go By
Know that a day doesn’t go by
That I don’t think of our past
You asked me to be with you forever and
I said I would be.
You said that you would be with
Me eternally and just because you
Broke your promise, doesn’t mean that I
Am going to break mine.
Every night before I go to bed, I
Stare at our pictures and every morning
I pretend that I taste you on my lips.
But I no longer cry.
All my tears were seeped long ago
And I couldn’t cry if tried.
And in all these years I haven’t glanced at
Anyone else. My heart may still be beating
Within my chest, but you took the feeling from it
Like you took my soul, when
They laid you down to rest forever.

Great poem! Well done x
At first I thought he left her, which I understood, but when I reached the end, I understood he was killed somehow. I think all people who truly love someone hold the fear of this occurring. Literally the best read I've gotten emailed yet, I had to come and say thanks!
