For A Beautiful Face

For a beautiful face all that I could do
Give all my pleasures and take all her woe.

For a beautiful face all that I could do
Leave all my friends or make them my foe.

For a beautiful face all that I could do
make myself a pauper and let all my esteems go.

For a beautiful face all that I could do
Let my wishes perish to make her wishes flow.

For a beautiful face all that I could do
to make her a peacock could look like a crow.

I always enjoyed reading your poems Ray sahab. They have great irony, and u know how to tell a thing poetically. I remembered a lyric sung by Mukhesh

Both peacock and crow have raucous voices...anyway two negatives make one affirmative...so you both will have no quarrel...God bless..10 (Report) Reply

beauty and brains a great combination. inner beauty, not extenal enhanced by borrowed plumes, is what is truly beautiful. nice composition, the ending takes by surprise. a good one

    Awesome poem, Palas

All that you have to do is:
    Be one with the beauty,
    There lies your duty.

Aesthetics fade, but in absolute love, there is a more captive beauty within, and beyond any exterior attraction.Very Nice Write, Palas...The couplet stanzaec sructure works well, here.
