On April First,
I decide to tease my students,
So I write the following on the white board:
"Chronicle the development of our English language from its West Germanic origins to the present, ‘urban, ' text-filled wasteland of the contemporary age.
"Research and cite your sources.
"Be specific."

They scramble for pencils and papers and I laugh like Doctor Evil
