Liquid Shark - Poem by Gengis Capote

seen seven seas

swam silently

swallowing stingrays

sea-turtles

seldom skipping

a single day without

a meal.

Swum up from the depths

catching unaware prey

heating under warm sun rays

without remorse when

bringing them death.

blood of earth

spilling out of core

fueling cars

paving roads

price to pay for

economic growth

death to birds and

sea life

as man watches from the shore

seeing seagulls turned to penguins

as oil covers all their feathers.
