Medusa Gümrükte Beklemez

'Süzüldü köyümüze geceyarısı
Balkan asıllı leydi winterova
Pelerini bembeyaz apak mı, apak
Gorgon'a kafa tutmuş Meriç nehri
Bilmez Medusa
Ki
O kefeninde sak.'

Geceden mix edip rüzgarı, ayaz'la
Saldırdı üstümüze ansızın haspa
Çekti beyaz yorganı, mil gibi gözlere
Dondurdu yeryüzünü, nefes alan ne varsa

Bir illüzyon cümbüşü
Poşetle kayan çocuklar
Kayıpta, bir yerlerine platin ısmarlayanlar
Güldürdü bazen
Bazen sildi hayattan
Fethetti yeryüzünü, ruhsuz kardanadam'lar

Ve,
'Güneşi yolladı Tanrı
Medusa'nın üstüne, kaldırıp sır perdesini
Yapışınca yılan saçlara öfke
Açtı gözlerini Meriç, ilahi bir sözle
Uyan!
Diyordu o ses, gaipten
Sar Gorgon'u şefkatle...''

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
