(Mother poems) It's easy to condemn it's hard to praise

Sometimes when you
Holler at me and beat
The living daylights
Out of me I feel as if I'd like to
Run away from your terrible
Temper and your sharp as a razor
Blade tongue and get into that there
Hooting truck and be that there smoking
Hustler gambler's moll and never come
Back to you
It's easy to condemn mother
And you don't respect me and
You're always telling me that
I'm the chip of the old block
And I'll die at the hands of
Some abusive lover just like
My aunt Sisi
It's easy to condemn
And you look at me with
Derision in your eye and you've
Condemned me to the other women and
You've been telling them that soon
I'm gong to give birth to my seventh child
And you say I don't even know the father

It's hard to praise
You don't thank me when
I give my money to you
To help raise my little brothers
And sisters
It gives you sadistic
Pleasure to see me cry
And your insults and beatings
Rise to a crescendo and you laugh
At my suffering behind my back
And let me tell you something you
Don't want to hear mother
You're scarred mother
You ask yourself what's gonna
Happen when I leave this house
You insult my lover 'cause you know
That if he marries me there goes the money
I know all your insecurities
So stop the beatings mother
Stop the bad mouthing mother
I forgive you all this
You're my mother and I'm stuck
With you for life and nothing
In the world will change that
I'm stuck with you
And I love you
Cause there can never
Be another mother for me
