My Brothers

My brothers
Let us view our sisters as more than a means of sexual gratification
Understand that you are the backbone of society
You set examples for our childen
Understand that even though we struggle
We don't have to remain in the same position our whole lives
You have just as much potential as the ones on top
Don't ever limit yourself to anything
Don't let people fool you into thinking you have to stay in the streets
Why be loyal to something that won't always keep it real with you?
My brothers
Understand there's more opportunity out there than what people tell you
You have more options than selling drugs
Playing sports
And being a rapper
Sometimes you must take a different approach to reach your dreams
Do what you must to get your foot into the door
My brothers
I've experienced the struggle at it's lowest points
I know how it feels to believe you have no other choice
To feel like there's no other way out
But you do
If you have a dream
Chase it and don't worry about what other people think!
You are only there because you haven't acted yet
You have so much potential
There is so much greatness within just waiting for your permission
Give yourself permission to shine
My brothers
