RIP Whitney

The day is almost over and you are gone
You were my little sister, all the good times
A month has went by and it feels so long
Your my angel that will always shine

He had no right to take you and your mom that way
I will hate him till i die
He pulled the trigger the morning of a suppose to be fun day
And im sorry i cannot lie

I miss you my little sister, i miss the phone calls
You were about to graduate and go to high school
I remember playing with those Barbie Dolls
And the time we fell into the pool

You were only 14 years old and he killed you
He had no right to do that
He killed your mom and he shot your sister too

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Whitney Elisabeth Hannah and her mother Tracy Hannah were shot and killed in their home Friday March 12th 2010. Whitneys older sister was shot and put in the hospital. Whitney was my best friend of 6 years. She was about to graduate from public school, she was excited about a new boyfriend. She was just a child. Im two years older than her and she taught me so many things about life. She was the person that encouraged me to write my first poem, and im glad she did. Everyday i miss her. She was just a child and some stupid drunk teenager went into her house and killed her and her mom out of anger. Everyday as i lay awake in my bed i wish i could bring her back, i really do...but shes gone and all i have left of her are my memories and pictures of my sweet little sister.
RIP Whitney and Tracy Hannah

    Wow, this poem...
I feel sorrow, anger, and all the mixed emotions that comes from a hurt soul.
I'm sure it's not just one hurt soul too, I feel all the the hurt that comes from this tragic loss just
    from this poem. (Report) Reply

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
