Treasure Island

Searching For Immortals

Searching for Immortals
I tread along a silent path
where reciprocation dissipates
just as the leaves decay,
though I hear no felicitations
the feral sparks domesticated
though the ear's drum hardly Mused

Of all the Holy Roman Emperors
who created and adorned
the ululating night
watching darkness fall,
the human condition is more ethereal
than ultra-sonic ripples

Unabated I shall mourn the loss of one debased
