Some Mother's Child
because he did
girlish things
in girlish ways
and because
in fact
he was girlish
and played girlish games.
the other boys
and so many others
took it upon themselves
to change his name
when he already had a name
his Mother gave him
and everybody knew...
it wasn’t “Faggot.”
