They Look At Me

They look at me and spit in disgust
I just swallow my saliva

They look at me and shake their heads in pity
I just swallow my saliva

They look at me and exchange sorry glances
I just swallow my saliva

When I have had enough
I just swallow my pride and go home
I am a beggar and under the bridge I make my home
