When Shadows Danced - Poem by Michael Wride

When shadows danced on your walls
Each was like a line from a poem
Created from our dreams
We reached up to grasp the words
Before they could disappear forever
We accepted each gift as the moonlight flickered
Through billowing curtains
And still the waves fell upon us
And wisdom bathed us in its light
