There's Always Tomorrow
Happiness has that grasp on us,
A heated ember rain.
Happiness is that mask on me
That cloaks my heart's black stain.
That very first gasp of air inhaled
Sparks revelry, hunger, and disgust,
For my life-blocks have dismantled,
Quashed and crushed into the crust.
Sunrise resonates acoustic tides of light
A blast of ultra-violet rays,
An orchestral, pseudo-sight.
For me lead clouds absorb this display.
I'm sorry, I did not drink from the fountain of youth today.
