Arnab Das Poems

Spend me when I'm gone
With my fathers fathoms deep
Usher me no more in obituaries
Nor allure me away of that sleep.
...

Blue eyes paint circles
Over and over the black
Sporting his auto gun
Points to the railway track
...

The backyard cottage door opened slowly
with a screeching sound and my shadow
crawled in, on the floor as I stood by the corridor.
A mouse squeaked complaining to me for its

Let them not write your name on the sad skies,
For the clouds are but the mercenaries of night;

Arnab Das Biography

The author is a postgraduate in English letters, a nihilist and impressionistic in approach for he thinks that poems must be short and judged by the impression it leaves. And it is a nihilistic rage that is printed on the page. He doesn't bother himself with art. His poems are not poems per se, but lampoons on the lack of poetry in today's life. The poetry is in the anger.)

Spend Me When I'm Gone

Spend me when I'm gone
With my fathers fathoms deep
Usher me no more in obituaries
Nor allure me away of that sleep.

Spend me when I'm gone.
Then all my candid misdeeds
Shall proliferate in vegetation
And provide a landscape for weeds

Spend me when I'm gone.
Like dew drops on the grass
For I'll be reborn as a hornbill
Or a sunflower in a sylvan vase.

Spend me when I'm gone
Under this autumnal morn
Like farmers taking home their yield
Spend me when I'm gone.
