I wake on Autumn's crispest morn
and step into the darkness cold.
I know not why before the dawn
the coldest air makes me so bold.
The summers pass, the Winter draws,
The darkness claims the early light.
This year I know why, the greatest cause,
of smiles as i face the autumns bite.
The cold alarm to wake me, the charm of cloudy skies,
the morning draped in starlight, the sleep still on your eyes.
The greatest thing is this, my friends, even at this time of life.
When Autumn comes again next year, my love will be my wife.
