Chrissy Robinson Poems

In this little smile sack
I have composed for you
is a yellow happy face
to make your day less blue.
...

Your face is like a tender rose
ready to be embraced.
The soft glow of your eyes
hypnotically soothes my pain.
...

As I step out the door and feel my feet
hit the crisp, frozen ground
and the cold, brisk air engulfs my body
as it howls all around,
...

I wish that everything could go back
to the way it all was before.
Before you shattered all my dreams
and heaved my heart to the floor.
...

I saw you today.
You were in your own little world
full of happiness and joy.
You suddenly turned and looked at me,
...

The taste of alcohol and cigarettes
still spitefully on my breath,
I catch myself whispering to no one.
My heart blurs what I cannot even see.
...

7.

Your eyes,
that once held my loving gaze.
You arms,
that once held me so tightly.
...

I tried to sleep
as the stars twinkled high above.
Snuggled under my warm, soft blankets,
I dreamed of you.
...

Accept me as I am-
I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not,
since perfect I cannot be.
...

A diamond engagement ring
sitting on a sobbing woman's finger.
A newly washed car
proudly shown off by its owner.
...

Tears roll slowly.
Each cheek is dampened by the salty streams they form
Drops fall softly.
Each one a silent memory,

Chrissy Robinson Biography

'Birth is the start of loneliness, and loneliness is the start of poetry.' ~Erica Jong I led what most would call a 'normal' life by society's standards. No extraordinary stories of hardships, although I know what it's like to just get by. No stories of heroic feats, depending on what you define as 'heroic'. However, I was cursed with a very fragile heart. And it tends to be banged up and broken from time to time. My poetry is my escape. It seems to be one of the few acceptable ways to express my anger, hurt, resentment, hate, and love. I hope by reading my poetry, you get a sense of who I am and how I feel. If you like any of my poetry and wish to use it, e-mail me (CR91Acura@yahoo.com) and I can give you written authorization to do so. Please respect me as a poet (and a person) and do not use my poetry, part or whole, in any way without permission. If you write poetry from the heart as I do, you know how much that means. 'You can only be you. A lot of times that's not enough for some people.' ~Tori Amos)

The Smile Sack

In this little smile sack
I have composed for you
is a yellow happy face
to make your day less blue.

I also have included
a cute little teddy bear
who will listen to your problems
anytime and anywhere.

A penny for your thoughts,
a candle to brighten your day,
and a tea bag to unwind
and chase all your cares away.

And eraser to correct
all of the bad things that you did,
and a crayon to scribble with
just like a little kid.

And last but not least,
a flower from a friend
who likes to see your day
come to a beautiful end!
