Atop a mountain built so high
Sits a little house all alone it sighs
With windows so tall and wide
The ground below seems so small

Violence erupting all around,
Scrolling the bottom of my tv.
The baseball game has lost all sound,
Nothing but blurs of color do I see.

Everything crashes.
No sudden movment.
All at once- a turn
For the worst.

That knock on the door
Sent me to the floor
'We're sorry. He didn't make it home.'

Only dust waltzes passed me
And even it seems to be scarce.
As I lie perfectly still
On a ridge in the heart of the desert

The more I realize how much regret fills my heart
Having to see you and smile.
The more I think about all we’ve been through
And how we got to now
The more I realize how happy I am
Just to know you.
The more I see you and the more I hear your voice
The more I realize how much I care about you
And how I wouldn’t trade anything
To change all we went through.
I love you more now than I ever did then
And being able to talk to you
Makes me wish it never had to end.
But now we’re here again
We’ve come full circle
And I know that being with you
Would take some kind of miracle.
