Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,
May I ask you to be true?
Can these plated images of me
Unveil, though slightly,

Summer morning and evening

Piano, flute and carrot salad.
Crickets and a white-blue butterfly.

El toro prays

Let me lighten your burden,
You, Little, Weak Boy,

Childhood

Granddad, walking-stick, nursery- rhyme.
Fun-fair, see-saw, merry-go-round.

Blessed

When we were just married
our neighbours had rabbits.

Discovery

It isn´t sex. It´s love.
It isn´t I. It´s us.

Cats

Why is it that painters
Can never paint cats

Headache 1 and 2

Headache 1
...

Always
You were a mountain.
Always there,
Standing stalwart, steadfast.

Upon feeling a daughter's pain and fear
When words are not enough,
What can one do but hug?
But what if she is far

The Weeping Willow

Which are the wizards or witches
Who have wisked away joy?

A Reflection On Reflection

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,
May I ask you to be true?
Can these plated images of me
Unveil, though slightly,
The deep, unending,
Mystery of You?

I´ve searched for meaning near and far
And found no answer straight
Or forward, back or front,
Inside or out, upside or down.
The masks that you have shown till now
Are Wise or Good or Judge or King,
Powerful, Aeternal, Suffering, Saviour,
Etc., etc., etc., etc.
Dare I take off once more
The mask you wear?
Shall I be turned into a frog
For merely even daring?

Let´s start the reasoning
Practically, mathematically.
What do I know,
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall?
That I was made in your own image.
What is it that I see
And know of me?
E pur si muove.
That I, like Earth,
Am always on the move,
Never the same today
As I was yesterday
Or as tomorrow will I be.

I´ve built a house, I´ve made a home
I´ve had a wife, created life,
I´ve fed my hates, I´ve made mistakes
I´ve killed, said yes to wars.
I´m writing, I´m working.
I´m resting, I´ll travel,
I´ll love, I´ll hurt.

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall
Is this the answer,
So simple, so, so easy?
Are You, like me,
Perpetually in the doing,
In the making of Thyself?
(See how respectfully
I do approach Thee)
Have I for once, just had
A passing glimpse of what
You possibly could be?
Could it be that, Mirror,
You are eternally creating
All Yourself and we, are we
Just simply images of You,
Like in the famous Plato´s cave?
But could it also be
(Now shall I really turn
Into a nasty, horrid toad?)
That all reflections of myself
And those of men, my friends,
Are You, Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,
And also in the making?

And what of that old,
Fearsome Judgement Day?
Could it not be that
(Let´s continue with our Maths)
If all our pluses sum up more
Than all our minuses,
Then we shall have made You,
No Mirror, then, and no mask either,
A You that´s Good and Just and King;
Or otherwise
If in our doing minus wins,
Then, Mirror, Thou shalt be
Evil, Demon, Satan, Belzebub
And all those ugly names
I wish not to recall?

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,
Tell me if this dream be true.
Can we know and make You
As we make ourselves along?
Is this what You have planned
For us to do and why it is so hard
For us to understand?
