Always Poem by Claudia Moline

Always

Always
You were a mountain.
Always there,
Standing stalwart, steadfast.
Always there. You.
Inapproachable at times.
At times a field in Spring,
Sunflower bright. Open.
Always there. You.
It could have been sooner.
It could have been later.
It has been.
You, Mountain, crumbled down
And now have come to me in need.
Don't you see?
The boulders rolled and
I am crushed.
I strive to breathe.
I barely can.
You are a Mountain. You always will be.
Standing stalwart, steadfast.
Always there.
You.
Always.
