we are in the dark
the world will not see
when the sun goes down

In the hope
that the world will become
a better place
we carry on

As I wake up
And adjust my eyes
From deep sleep
To daylight
...

As I lie in bed
watching the curtains
blow in and out like
a beating heart
...

Oh lord see me
tell me I'm still free
I see non existent chains
wrapped around me
...

How much should we know
Before we let it all out
When should we stand
And speak out
