We fear death but the true facts of the matter it is only the fear of death that we fear
And the feared grim reaper always very busy he takes people every day of the year
He takes the old, the middle aged and the young and he takes men and women in their prime
And he claims the billionaire and the poor pauper and he can come at an unexpected time.

The injured animal or bird vulnerable to predators into a thick hedgerow for to hide will crawl
The instincts in them for survival is something that is in us all
'Tis the fear of death that makes us want to live on we feel the fear of the unknown
But do not expect any mercy from others if any mercy to others you've not shown.

My best years of life in the past and long gone
But 'tis the fear of death makes us want to live on
Old age is a punishment as some do say
But for each one of us there's a last night and day

I do not fear big cats or snakes or dangerous crocodile
Between where I live and they live are many a mile
Those I fear the most to me live very near

Still we do need fear for our survival where are they the bravest of the brave
Their lack of fear proved their undoing it gave to them an early grave.

Our Government is making us prisoners of fear
Of the threat of terrorism from them we often hear
Our sense of security and liberty in a clandestine way they destroy
For them to cling to power that does seem a good ploy

Of valour on the battlefield and in other ways we hear
But only the most foolhardy one would never know of fear
We need fear for survival may they rest in peace the brave
Their reward for their bravery the cold and darkness of the grave.

My thoughts on an afterlife are never clear
The thought of dying is the only thing I fear
But to the reaper's scythe I too must fall
The journey through life does end for us all

With it you may well disagree and say it cannot be true
But a loss of Human Rights to some one else is a loss of Human Rights to me and you

As they both base their power on the medium of fear

He was buried this morning the young man without fear
His parents, siblings, girlfriend and friends at his graveside in tears
So young for to die only twenty years

The people who are not responsible for the over-population of the Human World of today

Tired of the World and of his aging nagging wife
Happiness seems far away from his life

With each passing day my life's journey's end near
But like most it is only the fear of dying that i do fear
But fear does not keep the life's Reaper away
And the young and the old are dying every day

That only the truly brave die young we read of and of hear
But to survive in the World one is in need of fear
The truly fearless in cemeteries lay
They did not live for to grow old and gray

That i am going to die to me obviously clear
But it is the fear of death i only does fear
Since death in itself is a natural thing
Of the praises of the Reaper of lives you will not hear many sing

Have you ever felt the World is against you that the gods are not on your side
And only the fear of death keeps you from ending your life in suicide
There are millions if not billions of people in Countries and towns and cities Worldwide
Who everyday do feel suicidal when their dreams of success are destroyed

Of extreme acts of bravery we often read of and hear
But is there one living who is free of all fear
And though the praises of those who are brave the masses do sing
For our very survival fear is a necessary thing

When they tell us who we should trust or not trust they are seeking our votes this is obviously clear
And for this we elect them to govern us the peddlers of fear
They convince us that we are the honorable, the noble and just
And those they do not like are unworthy of our trust

In his eighty ninth year the man who feels fear
The bangs of the war guns he never did hear
As a young man he was never in an army or learned how to use a gun
Drinking and socializing and making love to women was his way of having fun

I do not believe in the hereafter one reason that i do fear death
One reason i wish to keep living and that i will fight for my final breath
I do not believe post bodily death that the soul has wings to fly
To the paradise of the God people believe in a World somewhere beyond the sky

If you are a non swimmer from deep water stay clear
Since death is an ally of the one without fear
Many who live without fear have been known to die young
Though the dead never hear when their praises are sung

It can indeed be a mentally crippling thing
Governments stay in power through the medium of fear

From danger he is smart enough for to stay away

Just a little bit of fear can be a healthy thing

It does not bother you if your life story will never be told
But yours is a genuine fear the fear of growing frail and old
In a nursing home condemned to spend your waking hours in a wheelchair
Unable to walk out in the morning air

In my late sixties the Reaper of lives soon to me will be reaping near
It is the very fear of death that i only do fear
I only fear the nothingness beyond the Earthly grave
It will never be said of me that i was one who died brave

With each passing day the end of my life's journey to me draws near
But it is not death but the fear of it that i do fear
And though the praises of a noble death the singer may sing
The fear of the fear can be a fearful thing

Of despotic leaders we so often hear
And the respect they receive is the respect of fear
The fear of imprisonment and torture if one against them speaks out
Where one must suffer oppressive regimes by keeping shut mouth

Any government should not have nuclear weapons that's how it seems to me
Though with such an opinion many may not agree
Uranium is a thing that should be left in the ground
Even for nuclear power it can be risky in nuclear reactors danger abound

'Tis the fear of fear that's how 'twould seem to be
The thought of death is worrying to me
The clock of time keeps on ticking away
Today for many is their life's final day

'Tis not about your Country's Government or your National flag
Though these things you may feel are well worthy of a brag
Though patriotism and true freedom in distance far apart
As reality is from an affair of the heart

The very thought of death I do fear
And I welcome the birth of every new year
For I know it might well be my last
As time it keeps on ticking fast

With many it's god save the queen and god save the king
The praises of royalty the masses do sing
But that the queen and the king so great in their eyes
Are as mortal as they are they don't seem to realize

You say your God is great and him you do revere
If this be so then him why do you fear
So much that on his behalf you do wish on others ill
And for fear of him you would not hesitate to kill.

I do not fear death 'tis the thought of it I do fear
And of the death of one I know when I read of or hear

He may have lived a happy and a long life but he has no wish for to die
