Why do we have to live our lives in fear
And sense danger to us is ever near
And stay indoors after the sun go down
And feel too scared to walk the streets of town? .

Why do we have to live most of our life
In fear of those who live by gun and knife
And suffer in silence in the face of crime?
We must speak out and now ought be the time.

To every bad one there are many who
Would never even think of harming you
If we live in silence with fear we've lost the fight
So the time has come for the good to unite.

An evil minority has taken from us the right
Of leaving our homes untouched by fear at night
So the time has come to make our feelings clear
And speak against all those who live by fear.
