I don't even have to look you in the eyes
Because I already know you
I don't know how,

The best of both worlds:
Yeah, that's what I need.
Curves and lines,
Anything can be mine.

Why is this so hard?
It's tearing me apart.
The screams of pain,
Tears falling to the floor.

What do you do
When the only person
Who can see the tears
Is drowning in their own?

When I was little...
I wanted to be black
So I'd feel less guilt about slaves.
I wanted to be fat

I'm broken
But what broke me?
I don't have a clue
But you're trying to fix me

I'm not ready;
Not ready for any of this.
It's all happening so fast,
A blur.

Your soft hair
Brushes against my cheek
As I wrap my arms around you
In a gentile embrace.

A load might be lifted,
But I'm still holding on
To some scraps.
I'm not ready to let go.

I can't use pure ink
Because I'm afraid my mistakes
Will ruin all my work

It's killing me
Or that's more like we

Forever Underestimated Biography
My name is Marianne. Ever since I was little, I have loved to write. But recently, I've found that poetry is one of my favorite things of all. I've been writing poems almost nonstop and post all of them on this website. But the reason I post them is not because I want to be praised and famous (which probably wouldn't happen anyway) . I am not the oldest person out there, and people often put me down for it. I post these poems to show people that, even if you're young, you can still understand a lot. I know it's stupid, but that's the reason I'm here and I'm sticking to it. Thank you for reading :))

Today I Shall Write In Cursive
Today I shall write in cursive,
And try something new.
I'm tired of the same old script,
So I'll try something different. How about you?
The sun shines in my eyes every day of my life,
And the moon reflects it back at night.
But why not try something different,
And let Pluto light the Earth one time?
I go to school each day,
And teachers tell me what to do.
There's nothing wrong with that, but let's shake it up,
And, for one day, let me teach you.
