I do it for enjoyment but not for fame or pay
And some I consider wise even tell me that I should give it away
That I've written heaps of doggerel for one far more than enough
But their advice by me not heeded I keep on penning stuff.

But they are our representatives and us they represent
When the Ministers go to other Countries to talk to the Government Ministers there
Though no advantage in that for us of which I am aware

And words they use in every sort of way
They put their words on paper every day
Each to their own as some are known to say,

The night is wet and windy in the quiet Countrytown
And along the seemingly deserted streets few cars pass up and down
And flood waters can be heard gurgling in the town's stormwater drain
And house gutterings are rattling in the driving wind and rain

We must live by our decisions and the life choices we do make
For life is educational we learn from our every mistake
Our mistakes may cost us financially and our mistakes they may cost us a friend
And life itself a learning process from the day we are born until our span of time end
...

Don't blame me mate I did not vote for Howard
'Tis not my fault that he has been empowered
To rule this Nation in his clandestine way
Though he could be nearing his come uppance day.
