Ghazaleh Bayat Poems

My dearest
Gun took you away,
And I will keep bringing white roses to you,
To remind you of my never ending love
...

My flowers died when it was April yet,
An eternal eclipse darkened my sight,
And a heavy air filled my lungs
How could I ever love the enchanting sunrise and the melancholic sunset?
...

Would you be with me in a night so sorrowful?
In a night wherein you see nothing of that glorious face
And all you got beside you,
Is an aching soul so old and so tired.
...

There is nothing to laugh about
When I state a joke, forget the windup
Organs hastily start shrinking
When I leave my fresh wound open
...

In your eyes, I see witches of Salem weeping, don't burn them with tears

Through your lips I smell the scent of sempiternal lies, your immortal flaws
...

Do the favor darling man,
grasp your words, the keenest ones
plunge them gently into my chest
The sharpness, the pain
...

There is a reflection of you in every sparkle my lighter makes
And I feel your scent as I smoke my half-burnt cigarette

I find the words I longed to say in the songs they play on the street
...

Ghazaleh Bayat Biography

I study English literature and I am very fond of poetry and literature because I believe with them we can find words we fail to say ourselves. Poetry writing is an act of creation. It is art in its written form. There are no boundaries limiting its vastity and that is why the world never looks at it as a cliche industry. My writings are mostly influenced by classic poems.I cling to my pencil whenever I feel that heavy burden of emotions on my chest. I am also a big adorer of painting and music. How could we survive the war of reality without the miracle of literature and art? You can find me on instagram. This is my ID: @stasyia)

Flowers In The Hands Of A Young Lady

My dearest
Gun took you away,
And I will keep bringing white roses to you,
To remind you of my never ending love
Which was the only thing gun could not take away.

My dearest
I will keep bringing you candles
To let you hear the sound of their flicker
To remind you that light is still out there,
- And I can see it.

I will keep bringing to you the Bible and will read it to you,
To let you know it could not
save the innocent from the gun.

I will keep bringing you books
And will read to you your favorite poems, to remind you they still live
and gun couldn't kill them.

My dearest
Every dawn I will come to you
to let you know
- our love has no sunsets.
And gun with it's wildest sound has no power,
when there is love to be found.

[I had already written a comment, but it seems it went lost (? !) ] - - - - it's always a pleasure to read Ghazaleh's poems... a poetess whose poetry honors our anthologies. Thank you, dear Ghazaleh - - - -
