Flowers In The Hands Of A Young Lady Poem by Ghazaleh Bayat

Flowers In The Hands Of A Young Lady

Rating: 5.0

My dearest
Gun took you away,
And I will keep bringing white roses to you,
To remind you of my never ending love
Which was the only thing gun could not take away.

My dearest
I will keep bringing you candles
To let you hear the sound of their flicker
To remind you that light is still out there,
- And I can see it.

I will keep bringing to you the Bible and will read it to you,
To let you know it could not
save the innocent from the gun.

I will keep bringing you books
And will read to you your favorite poems, to remind you they still live
and gun couldn't kill them.

My dearest
Every dawn I will come to you
to let you know
- our love has no sunsets.
And gun with it's wildest sound has no power,
when there is love to be found.

It has the simplicity of expression and the depth of feeling of the best poetry with the grace of a Gazelle!

It's a touching piece of poetry! Pulsating expression! My favorite lines: My dearest, Every dawn I will come to you/to let you know our love has no sunsets.....Loved the intensity of expression, the heart touching chimes.....Full marks.
