Best Poem of Heather Z. Hanna

Afternoon

Steady breeze blowing flags
Receding brown of greening grass
Single blackbird winging high
A warming Spring gives gentle sigh
Heating rays of sunlit brick
Backed by rising mountains thick
Thinning clouds sliding by
Blue horizon coming nigh
Quiet scene of afternoon
Holding still, gone too soon.

There Is A Way

Need to Focus
Hocus, Pocus!
Study the lines
Retool, refine.

Find the pattern
The ring of Saturn.
Circle and watch
A mark, a notch.

Search for a way,
Hooray! Hooray!
A stair to there!
Great find, today!
