James D. Faulkner Poems

Streaks of yellow
Illuminate the day
And toss my worries
Into the fray
...

(Written by a friend of mine. Decided to post it because we thought it was funny at the time. Nothing like my style, so don't get used to it.)

The math of our
Time makes no
...

Broken,
Shattered,
These pieces have scattered
To places I cannot locate.
...

She's trapped in a fantasy,
An alternate reality,
Where youth is forever
And a consequence is a fairy tale.
...

Life like acid.
Corrosive, destructive.
Eating away the foundation.
Black around the edges.
...

Oh, my love
Won't you please help me?
I've given in to
This pain that's been sleeping
...

Til death do us part,
Where do we go from there?
Do I continue to live without you?
That just doesn't seem fair.
...

I awken in a bed of glass,
A bed of what once was a home,
Now lacking all safe qualities.
Everything is burned,

Another day, another session,
Look, I have a confession.
Not a day goes by without
You lurking in my head.

Colors...

Streaks of yellow
Illuminate the day
And toss my worries
Into the fray

Splashes of blue
Flood my mind.
Uncertainty becomes familiar,
Though uncertain at times.

Stains of red
Breed anger within,
Tempting me to provoke
My littlest sin.

Spills of green
Evident in envious eyes.
Envious lust,
Envious crimes.

Shades of grey
Depress the sky
And bore the world
With sweet demise.

Coats of black
Darkened by hate.
Learn to love
Before it's too late.

These are the colors in my spectrum.
