I sat on a rocket shell and took a cigarette lit,
taking in what doom man could shamelessly spit
One mile away a building started to tumble,
and all the words in my throat fumbled…
In the shade of the smoke I blew out I saw,
a young girl treading through the wreckage of stone
Without looking aside she came and sat beside,
and let go the doll she had held astride…
I felt the hands of her on my arms
as she looked to me with her pretty young eyes…
No words came out of her throat as I smiled,
and her eyes shed not a tear, but cried
