all the good times and bad times this year had brought

from the days and nights that the seasons just forgot

I sat on a rocket shell and took a cigarette lit,
taking in what doom man could shamelessly spit
One mile away a building started to tumble,
and all the words in my throat fumbled…

Day one, I looked up and caught her eyes
and there she stood with her lips apart
I couldn’t help but hold that stare
and feel the warmth in me all but spare

The sky darkens when you’re not here,
as a cloud in the shape of love is drawn
With the words I so fail to speak,
and the letters that litter the sky of dawn
