If you saw me angry would you really be scared?
If I needed your help would you come rescue me?
If you saw me hurting would you let me be?

Why do we always hurt the ones we care most about?
Why do we always do those things to the ones we can’t live without?
Are we afraid to let them get to close?
Or is the fear of losing them that really scares us the most?
...

You left me here, looking back to a place I’ve already been
Losing sleep over wondering the next time I’d see you again.
I always remember the last day when we said our “Good- byes”
Knowing how much I’d miss you, tears started flowing from my eyes.
...

So much has changed over the past few years
I look back now wondering if it was worth all of those tears.
I never wanted to know what it was like to say 'good-bye'
but maybe now it is time to spread my wings and fly.
